"Intelligence cannot be predicted, nor can it be predetermined, but it is influenced by the environment and environmental events that take place during the first three years of a child's life. That is why stimulation is so utterly important during this critical period of development. Efficient early stimulation can alter the size, structure and chemical functioning of a baby's brain."

You mean I can't just let Hazzy sit there with his toys but actually have to stimulate him with different things? This parenting thing just gets harder and harder, doesn't it? Well, I'm not going to go out and buy more toys that he will only use for a few months and will just end up as clutter. So I sat down and made some new toys for my little boy. Some balls made out of those odd single socks, a shaker from a plastic water bottle, and a little doll from an old face washer. I'll need to sew in some hair and mouth for that doll soon, when I get the energy. But for now, I'm back to the age old question, 'What's for dinner?'
