The end of Hazzy’s birthday week

The birthday boy

We thought the day would never come, but Hazzy has finally turned one!
It still feels unreal that my baby is no longer a ‘baby’ but a ‘toddler’.
To think that this energetic little boy once used to be a helpless little baby, is just amazing.

Anyways, we started out his first birthday celebration with a big party at the park.
We received so much love and kindness from our friends and family when Hazzy was born that we wanted to thank each and all of them. Which meant that this party became a massive event, with 130 people attending. We had plenty of space and food, but I didn’t have enough brain space to cope with such a big event. I felt like I didn’t get to properly greet and thank my guests. Poor Hazzy was neglected by his mum who even forgot to feed him. Thankfully, my sister was there to take care of him.

On Hazzy’s real birthday, we decided to spend it quietly as a family. I decorated our dining room and even put on my traditional Korean Hanbok for the occasion. However, because I went slightly overboard with the decorating, Hazzy was quite cranky by photo time.

Cranky Hazzy

The following Saturday, we had a joint first birthday party with my mothers group. We all gathered at one of the mum's house and had a nice, small picnic in their backyard. Finally a birthday party where ALL of us could relax and enjoy the day. Hazzy showed his approval by smiling for the camera.

I’m sorry for making such a fuss Hazzy. From now on, your birthday will truly be a day for you.

Finally happy Hazzy
