It was like I had a baby. I fell so in love with my nephew that I would dream of him at night.
I missed him so much that I actually migrated to Australia to be with him (sort of).
Later on, my sister had another girl and that made me even more happier.
I would wake up in the morning looking forward to spending time with them.
I could read them the same book over and over again and not get bored.

Now my sister has started understanding this special bond, as well.
Even though she lives hours away, she still finds ways to visit her little nephew.
Her whole family even drove 9 hours to come to Hazzy's birthday party.

It's a special bond, being an auntie.
You kind of feel like their mum, and want to take care of them.
But you never feel weary of looking after them because, at the end of the day, you return them to their parents. It's fascinating what these family ties do to you. Although families and relatives are a pain some times, remembering these special bonds remind me to be thankful for them.
