We've been living in this house for a year and a half now, and I finally feel like we've settled down a bit. After moving 3 times in the first year of our marriage, our house always felt like it was still unpacking. But after living in this house for awhile, I started noticing that it needs some homely touch. It has almost no artwork or photo displayed, nothing that shows our characters, and yet it's managed to collect so much clutter. I'm hoping after January, it will feel more like our home sweet home.
Today's assignment was to make a list of projects that needs to be done around the house. I started from the entrance and made a list as I walked through our house. Here is what I came up with:
Entrance
- Clean shoe rack
- Organise top of shoe rack
- Hang a welcoming art piece
- De-clutter bedside table
- Organise jewellry on top of drawer
- De-clutter clothes
Nursery
- Organise Hazzy's clothes
- Get a small bookshelf
- Hang some cute decorations on the wall
Living room
- De-clutter top of desk
- De-clutter book shelf
- Hang photos on walls
Toilet
- Organise sink cabinet
- Clean molds in grout
- Hang wall art
Kitchen
- De-clutter cabinets
- Organise pantry
- Clean stove and oven
- Hang message board
Laundry
- De-clutter accumulated junk
Spare room
- Organise paper clutter
- Set up storage for craft
- De-clutter books
I know it won't be easy with Hazzy following me around everywhere (I had to walk around with a laptop writing this, trying to dodge Hazzy's curious fingers), but I'm still super-motivated since it's the beginning of the year and all. Hopefully, I'll be able to share some transformations with you in future posts.
