After the initial shock of morning sickness had passed, I encountered a new change in my body: itchiness. I started scratching like a mad woman. My head, belly, thighs... Even my husband started getting embarrassed at my unsightly scratching-in-public behaviour. It got so serious that I googled my symptoms and was certain that I had some kind of ringworm in my scalp. But when I went to the doctors fearing the worst, the reason was surprisingly simple. My skin was too dry. I just needed to moisturise better. Oh...
That is how I started using Bio-Oil. I've been bombarded by their corny ads with depressing looking women who suddenly brighten up after starting using Bio-Oil. Then I saw it was on special in Chemist Warehouse and decided to give it a go. The texture does need some getting used to because it's not as watery as Baby Oil but extremely oily at the same time. I learned to use a little bit at a time and massage it in well. After I started using it, the itchiness subsided and so did the dry patches. But I didn't realise how good Bio-Oil was until I stopped using it.

After I had my baby, and used up all my Bio-Oil, I thought I wouldn't need it until my next baby. However, the pregnancy seemed to have changed my skin permanently. Because after a few months without it, I started flaking. Shock, horror. It was quite disgusting and messy. I tried all the other body lotions I had but nothing seemed to get rid of the flaking dead skins. I finally got Bio-Oil and applied it to the problem areas. Like magic, my skin stopped flaking the next day.
I've learnt my lesson. I'll never desert you again Bio-Oil.
